M. Thomas Gammarino is a US writer currently based in Hawaii, but formerly from NY and immediately staying in Tokyo with his wife's family for an extended holiday. He contacted me after googling “headshots Tokyo” and inquired about doing some headshots. Seems his agent was asking him for some decent shots to promote his forthcoming debut novel, Big in Japan (the current working title but likely to be changed). He used to be in a rock band in NY - signed to a label before breaking up, and the novel is about an upcoming NY band trying to break Japan and the madness that ensues. Can't wait to read it.

He was a delightful fella, we spent a good 6 hours or so taking the shots, downloading, selecting, editing and printing and we spent the whole time animatedly chatting and laughing a lot. I walked him back to the station and we had a hug and he told me that he loved the photos (I did take a bunch of classic style headshots too, these other shots came at the end of the shoot) and that if he made it big he would try to drag me along with him..... You know, I really hope he does make it big. And not just for the possible perks for me, but because he deserves it. He loves literature, and spent over 5 years writing this book.
