Another one of our exchange students, hanging around in the library. He may look suicidal in this pic but it's all just show (most of the time). He does a great Kazakhi accent that just cracks me up. He is quite the deadpan comic and is in the process of becoming trilingual. Damn smarty pants. Great eyes, ne.

In other news, Skype Video has finally been released for MAC users - it's still in beta form but I used it last night to have a really long video chat with my brother and sister-in-law last night. The line was great, and we got the clearest picture and sound we've had yet in all our attempts at video calls. Annoyingly, the different computer platforms between us always caused a problem. Now that Skype video (FINALLY!) works across both platforms, all those shitty pixelated pictures and equally shitty distorted/delayed sounds we used to have to deal with are gone. Last night was the most natural conversation I've had with Dave and Elissa since I was last sitting with them. We even had a drink together, toasting each other, and played like fools with the camera, eyeballing the lens and rocking like a boat. Fun fun fun. If you don't use it already, and you live far from friends and family then go download it now and get everyone else to sign up. It's a bloody great service: Skype. Wonder if they'll pay me for the word-up?
And Tokyo just had its 10th day of pure sunshine. The gods are kind.
