This post is for my Australian friends who don't understand how hot Japanese guys can be. Really, really, really hot. Forget about the old guard in their black suits and briefcases, the phenomenally exciting younger generations are tall, beautiful, stylish, casual, relaxed, creative, prolifically talented and want to break every possible cliche the world has about Japan.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the hottest man in Japan: talented actor, vocalist and musician, artist, director, designer and occasional model, Mr Tadanobu Asano. This is him on the May cover of the Hong Kong Esquire. He was also recently on the cover of Time Asia.

Must say even as a gentleman myself,..Asano is a good looking man and damn I love his films. He's such a chameleon actor. If you've never seen him act people...search out some of his films.
Ah yes Shingo. When I first moved to Japan, my first crushes were Shingo and Hidetoshi Nakata. I saw Hide on an ad on the train and was like -OMG who IS that to my Japanese girlfriend and since then I have been hooked. Husband buys me Hide mags.
Now Shingo has turned out to be a disappointment. It is his seeming rank stupidity that awes me. His football commentary was painfully embarrassing and had my husband shouting at the TV and don't even get me started on when SMAP met Micheal Jackson. It was awful. They are not even fit to sniff his diamond encrusted shoes so far as entertainers go and their lack of reverance and open mocking was shocking. I also have a problem with 'Boy Bands' who become 'Man Bands' and so Shingo. I'm sorry you are no longer my No2. Here are a few more names for delection:

in the famous-people-world, i have a thing for Hiroyuki Sanada (nice call, sarah), Jo Odagiri (cameleon heir, and a kind of younger version of Tadanobuu Asano), and Kenji Sakaguchi (nice smile, but seems a bit of an airhead - but HEY, who need conversation).
in the real world? just a quick dash through omotesando, shibuya or just to my station can give me a hot flush!

Geez, he just happens to really look like this one guy that works at StaBA in Kichijoji!!! He is sexy. I like the body hair, but some of the facial hair has to go and that ponytail too!!! HA!!

hmmm..... well, it depends on how you measure it, i guess... in terms of comments it is definitely up there, but in terms of individual, specific visits, not really. Not yet, anyway...
