The Album Leaf play Tokyo

Jimmy LaValle The Album Leaf
Jimmy LaValle from The Album Leaf. No, I didn't take this photo.

Just a quick reminder to folks that the delectably delicious noise band The Album Leaf are playing at Shibuya O-East next Monday night, January 23rd. Actually, I'm a bit confused by the venue - I was sure that they were playing at O-Nest but it seems to have changed. O-east is a bigger venue, I think - didn't buy our tickets yet, I presumed we'd be getting them at the door but maybe we should look into pre-booking. Maybe the band is more well-known than I thought... There is certainly a massive scene for this kind of music in Tokyo. Sigur Ros are HUGE here. And I would hate to miss out, like I did for Mogwai, whose shows here next week sold out weeks ago. Gutted, I tell ya.

If you wanna know more, go check out the beautiful video for On Your Way.

The bands creator, Jimmy LaValle is

a classically-trained and prolific pianist and musician whose ambitious projects have involved San Diego's seminal ambient piano-rock outfit Tristeza, noise punks The Locust, the beat-driven GoGoGo Airheart and the gloomy, brooding epic-core group, Black Heart Procession,

Current Live Album Leaf players include:
Drew Andrews - guitar, keys, bass
Timothy Reece - Drums
Matthew Resovich - Violin
Andrew Pates - Live Visuals

I cannot wait.
