Step forward baby

This may well be the last photo taken with my trusty old Canon G3 you see published on this blog. At 2 pm, Tyler and I are going shopping for a new camera. We've both been doing a lot of research. But I will tell you all about it later...

Off to see Sayuri tonight. You may know it better by its western title Memoirs of a Geisha. Should be pretty weird to see a movie about a unique aspect of Japanese culture made by Americans and starring Chinese. Looking forward to what looks to be a lush piece of cinematography.

Look at the Fuji S9000. A bit big when compared to my Olympus C740 but so much better. It has been getting good reviews in US photo magazines

one thing to say is that your pictures are amazing. they are absolutely beautiful. i downloaded several pictures from the gallery section but that is not enough. i must get a digital camera and headoff!!
if i am able to give a request, could you upload me some pictures of Roppongi Hills and the winter beauty of Japan? thankyou.

KaIEI, thanks for your kind words, and sorry but I don't really do requests (unless I am getting paid). Was in Roppongi last week and remembered just how much I despise the place. Won't be going back in a hurry. Unless there's something on at Superduluxe.

Hello there Martine!

I just found your web page while browsing, lush pictures! - and I just wanted to bend your ear about buying a decent digicam- nothing too expensive digital camera something suitable for a first timer.... do you recommend anything? My background is in short film - so I'm saving big bucks for a video camera ... sorry to bend you ear - Happy new year!

Hi Sabah,

Don't worry about bending my ear at all.

My friend Andrea just bought a Sony Powershot S2 IS, 12xzoom and is really happy with it. Of course, my old camera, the Canon powershot G3 is an excellent camera and because it's a bit old you should be able to get it cheap. It also does short video clips too, which is why I'm going to hang on to it because my new camera is stricly SLR - no video at all. Would love a video camera but it's way out of the budget for now....

Cheers and thanks for stopping by.
