< Another fabulous day in the park | MAIN | A million and 6 questions... >

Kochira wa Ototo desu

This is my brother David, from the small town of Port Douglas, after an 8 hour flight, a one hour wait through customs at Narita airport, a bit over an hour on the Narita express... and BAM! 1 minute into his first Tokyo sardine can train ride (The Chuo). See the fear? he he he, I cracked up solidly for a minute. Am I a wicked sister?

The first day was a lovely mellow day that included Dave coming into my Grade 5 returnee class and doing a presentation on his life in Far North Queensland. Elissa (my sister-in-law) made a video of their kids' school and daily life, which was a smash hit. The kids loved it, and him. He even got into some cleaning with the kids after lunch - raking leaves outside their classroom.

Yesterday was spent at the glorious world heritage listed temple complex, Nikko. It was a beautiful day despite the freezing cold!

This is me, Dave and Matt (Dr Dave's little brother, on a visit from France). We are standing under the original three monkeys carving, hence the hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil pose.... Dave and I are both wearing thermals, don't we look enormous.

And this is us, freezing our feckin arses off.

Off to Kamakura today. Gotta run, sorry for the lack of words.

Man you guys look cold. It was 34 degrees in Melbourne on Thursday. Eat one of those yummy dove biscuits in Kamakura for me.

no, it's not snow, but when we went up the hill to chusenjiko there was snow, much to my brothers delight. He's never seen the stuff - and actuallu neither had I before I came to Japan.

matty, we didn't get a dove bikky but we did have great soba.
