OK, one last mention - tonight is the first of two shows here in Tokyo for Art Of Fighting, click below for details. And they are going to Kyoto and Osaka too, so Kansai folk can check them out too.
You heard it here first...(and again now that I have loads more info):
The very very excellent band Art of Fighting will be playing JAPAN very soon, touring their new album Second Storey. Catch them (and the Dirty Three's Mick Turner) at:

Do yo'selves a favour and make sure you don't miss these shows. Art of Fighting are one of my all time fave Australian bands. You can listen to some of the songs from the latest record at their website. If you're into lush indie sounds, you'll love them. Here's a good article from The Melbourne Age, and an album review from Halo 17.
Other events to mark into your calendar include: Jimmy Eat World at Shibuya O-East (5 500 yen) on Mon April 4 & Tuesday April 5 Asian Dub Foundation at Shibuya Ax (6 000 yen) on Sun April 10 Asian Kung Fu Generation at Zepp Tokyo (3 500 yen) on Mon May 2 Bloc Party at Quattro (5 500 yen) on Sat/Sun 7/8 May

Nicole, I have seen AOF many times, booked dozens of their shows and have the drummer Marty staying in my new apaato when they come, and yes, they are TOPS. Actually, it's their second tour of Japan. They are signed to Wonderground Records here, a very cool label I wrote about here, who have quite a few aussie bands in their stable. I am so excited about getting to see them play not once, but twice. Woohoooooo.

I was lucky enough to see AOF the first time they were here in a show with The Lucksmiths and they were excellent--lucky because I honestly hadn't heard of them before. (I've been deprived.) They were also very very nice and I'd love to see them again. Yay! Thanks for this info, Martine.
Thanks for the kind words. I have no idea about tix but I can email the label and find out if you like. Also, maybe the venues have their own sites with info, wil take a quick look this arvo if I get a chance.
Hi,
i just pop into your blog while making research about this wonderful band! If it can be of any help, i highly reccomend AOF, unfortunately being in Italy i couldn't watch them live. Their new album "second storey" is fantastic: we even tried to license it in our Country but everything that comes from Bella Union in Uk is directly released by V2 Italy..it's a pity because our promo office already worked on them (their first album) but you know..that's how things go..Ciao!
Thanks for the info that Art of Fighting were playing in Tokyo. Saw it on your site, and went to see them last night. Great band, especially good to hear aussie music over here. Went with some Japanese friends - their first time to hear an aus band and they loved it.Thanks!
