I'm a third time Auntie again! But this time IT'S A GIRL!!!!
My brother David and sister-in-law Elissa gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl at Cairns Base Hospital last Friday. Just one event in a week of significant newsworthy events here in frangipani-land.
Other news includes
1. I'm all set to move house at the end of February. I'll be sharing with a lovely Japanese Japanese-teacher named Tsubana, in a little 2DK apartment in Mitaka - home of the Ghibli Museum and a short walk from Inokashira Koen. The best part about it? The huge evergreen tree right outside my new bedroom patio. I have loved my house here but I am so over sharing a big house (and associated piggery) and most of the original residents have all moved on. It's time.
2. I am now, offically, as of this morning, the proud bearer of a one year self-sponsored visa. You can read more here at the original (and updated) entry.
3. I have been thoroughly enjoying a visit by my dear old friends Eric and Tom. They've gone off skiing in Nagano today but will be back for more mischief on Thursday for a day or two before they head back to Sydney.
4. I am being a naughty naughty girl and have blown off all work today so I can relax and go see The Shins with my long-time-no-see friend Jennifer. I've been so miserable since I've been back from vacation and it's been such a great week that I just couldn't cope with anything less than a two day weekend.
5. I have 2 (update: now it's 3) serious full-time potential positions on the go. I can soon kiss this awful over-worked no-life-lifestyle good bye. Oh the joy of it all. I am loving life in Tokyo again. Even the cold weather won't get me down this week.
And some time, real soon, I promise, I will get the vacation galleries up in full.
