Oh, Kinja, how I love you

Being such a busy girl of late, I really don't have the time to check and see if each and every one of my favourite websites have been updated. I wouldn't have a clue how to do the RSS fees thing, and I would love to have a portal like Patrick does, but again - I wouldn't have a clue how to do that.

So..... when I found Kinja I was very very happy indeed. It collects the RSS feeds from all my faves and puts excerpts from each new update onto one page for me so I can decide whether or not to check it out. It's still in testing stages so sometimes there are some crazy glitches like dozens of excerpts in a row from one site going back for its last months entries... and occasionally it doesn't receive the updates so it does pay to check manually every so often if a site hasn't turned up in your digest for a while.

Anyway: here's my digest. If you want to get your own digest you can add frangipani by clicking on the button below.

Thanks for mentioning my portal, which is barely a technological experiment. :)
In Japan there's a free service called Hatena Antenna which does the same thing of monitoring sites that you like. What's cool is that it works with any site, not just ones with a RSS feed (actually maybe it doesn't understand RSS feeds).
It's all in Japanese but if you make it past the registration you should figure it out easily!

As for RSS feeds, I think you found a good solution with Kinja! Personally I use Windows software called SharpReader that alerts me everytime something is posted.

Thanks for the links, Patrick - I do wish Kinja would tackle all sites, there are quite a few sites I would love to be notified about re. updates....

I would love a portal like yours! One day, when I have more time and am more teckno savvy.... I know, I know, it's probably really easy....
