it's been a very festive time with christian and yuikos engagement announcement. friday night we hit the town at an amazing restaurant in shinjuku aptly named "asian cushion", on the 8th floor of the K building on the border of kabukicho. lush lush lush with dozens of private booths lined with huge cuddly soft cushions and padded orange leather walls. the tables were light boards with opaque marbling and the booths were separated by white muslin drapes. excellent asian/italian food.

we loved it so much that we went back again there tonight with christians dad (in town for a week) and some of his work buddies from hahajima. but tonight was it. i won't be seeing them again until next march when christian finishes his contract in hahajima. boooooo. very sad.
