i think i love autumn. the weather has been just glorious. last friday i walked to churieto (the shrine on a mountainside 10 mins from my place) and took these pics.
in other news, the 3 hour photo expedition in shinjuku yesterday was great. ran into andrew, a fellow australian - from melbourne, and we hung out together wandering the male impersonator bars and basketball courts at the back of kabuki-cho. highlights? the rolls royce in front of the male impersonator club, the basketball courts and standing in the traffic island of crazy traffic making the headlights look like rivers in the big city. about a dozen people met at an izakaya afterwards - andrew, kevin, kurt, james, lil, michiyo, akira and some others whose names i can't quite remember (i was only there for about 30 mins as i had to catch the last bus home at 8). funny to watch everyone showing off their cameras and taking photos of each other. nice folk. i look forward to the next one.
and finally, just got an email from cristobal, a lovely spanish woman who spent some time in japan recently. here are her photos in a gloriously designed page.
updated: also just found a great link to an interview with wen ling, the man behind the great photos at ziboy. you should also check out this list of chinese blogs (yes, they're in english). my growing fascination for this country makes me suspect it may be my next port of call after i finish in japan (whenever that may be....)
