i must apologize for the mind-numbingly dull posts of late. i've been really quite pre-occupied with working behind the scenes on my new galleries and new software and new design concepts (like CSS and validation)(phew, the ongoing discussion over at the japan bloggers list about this same stuff has been quite substantial and interesting) and have really only been posting just to show people that i'm not dead... not putting a lot if thought into content.

i'm sorry. but i'm still gonna be pre-occupied for a few weeks...erm...probably months... will have new pics up as often as possible but the accompanying narrative may be a little on the short side...

I really enjoy looking at your web site. I lived in the Tohoku region of Japan for two years and this was and is the best experience of my life. I thought this experience would become as other experiences in my life and slowly fade into memory yet the opposite has occurred, now I miss Japan more than ever and may just find a way to return! Your pictures are of some of the things I enjoyed the most - sunsets, nature, daily life, etc. It was a simple yet profound pleasure to walk a different route while doing daily activities and your photographs remind me of this pleasure. I read that you had applied for the JET program, I hope you were/will be accepted and I'm glad you are enjoying your experiences. I know it is difficult to live there at times yet anything in life worth doing is difficult, as you know. Everyday in Japan I *lived* and that is what matters. I have been a frequent, and up to now, anonymous, viewer of your site. I hope everything is going well for you in every way! Sincerely...Tod Walters

hey tod,

thanks for posting. i decoded not to apply for the jet program, mainly because i don't want to be stuck in inaka again for another year or two.... will probably be working for interac in tokyo instead, hopefully living in shimokazagawa. i'm really glad you like my site, and yeah, japan really does get under your skin, doesn't it. i have no plans of leaving at all.... scary when my original plan was to spend a few years here then move on to another country, skipping around the globe teaching english....
