"Oshino Village is located in the northwestern part of Lake Yamanaka-ko, one of the five lakes of Mt. Fuji. The area still remains unspoiled and is rich in nature. Near the village, there are eight ponds that produce spring water called Oshino Hakkai, and all the ponds are protected as a natural monument in Japan. Its pure, clear water is designated as one of the top 100 spring water locations in the nation. The village's oldest straw-roof house, built during the Edo Period (seventeenth-nineteenth century), is now open to the public as an ethnographic museum, displaying furniture and household items of the era."

The second shot reminds me of the last scene in the film "Dreams' by Kurosawa. The connection with Monet's last paintings is also strong.
As your last shot proposes beauty is very frequently right at our feet, right where we are.
Oshino Hakkai is now on my list of places to visit.
